Impey Showers tells us about its plans for this year’s Occupational Therapy Show…
Impey Showers is delighted to be exhibiting at The OT Show this Autumn. Impey is the UK’s leading wetroom specialist, operating successfully in the health and care sectors and working directly with OTs to develop high quality, innovative showering products to benefit those with limited mobility.
Impey’s healthcare experts will be on hand with wet room products old and new, including the Impey SlimFold stylish shower seat and bench, which serves to illustrate just how far showering solutions for elderly and disabled users have evolved over the years.
Impey’s style-savvy new shower seat and bench, SlimFold, has been designed for people with mobility issues, but can also be used by anyone who simply wants to sit and relax in the shower. It was developed following feedback that suggested users found ‘old fashioned’ seats sterile, bulky, dangerous and as presenting hygiene issues, with joints and fittings acting as dirt traps.
Engineered for maximum strength, support and durability, SlimFold can support weights of up to 47st./300kg, can be supplied in a choice 10 colours and has a super-sleek profile when folded. It can be fitted from heights of 417mm, with no maximum height restriction, and is made from ‘warm to the touch’, semi flexible, comfortable and non-abrasive polyethylene.
As well as its innovative modern healthcare products, Impey will also be exhibiting some high quality examples of its traditional product portfolio. The company has teamed up with Mira Showers and Whale Pumps to produce a joint CPD presentation on ‘Safe Showering’ at this year’s OT Show, which will discuss and demonstrate how bathroom areas can be adapted to enable elderly and disabled people to shower independently and safely.
According to Neil Whitehead from Impey Showers, “The presentation will be invaluable to OTs working with elderly and disabled end users. The seminar will include the key points to consider when designing a wetroom area, and provide solutions to common difficulties. Also presented will be an innovative and unique wetroom product – a shower which wirelessly communicates with a drainage pump to provide a simple, tidy and reliable ‘anti-flood’ solution.”
